The Harold A. Blood, DO, FAAO Memorial Lecturer Award is recognition of an AAO Active Member chosen to deliver the lecture to students during their program at the annual AAO Convocation. The nominee may meet the following criteria: exceptional success as a mentor to osteopathic medical students and/or interns/residents; outstanding commitment to osteopathic philosophy, principles and practice; outstanding commitment to osteopathic philosophy, principles and practice; and recognition by peers as a superb clinician who integrates osteopathic manipulative medicine into his/her unique practice of osteopathic medicine.

The Membership Committee recommends nominees to the Board of Governors who review the credentials of the nominees and vote to select the recipient and an alternate in the event that the recipient is unable to deliver the lecture. The recipient is then scheduled to deliver the lecture as part of the student program at the next year’s Convocation.
