Boyd R Buser, DO Re-elected as Governor of the American Academy of Osteopathy

Little Rock, Arkansas, March 26, 2009 – Boyd R. Buser, DO has re-assumed the office of Governor of the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO).

Dr. Buser is a 1981 graduate of Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Special Proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

Dr. Buser earned his fellowship in the ACOFP in 2002. In 1995, Dr. Buser served the American Academy of Osteopathy as its president and was named “Educator of the Year” by the AOA/AOF in 1994. He currently chairs the Academy’s Nominating Committee and serves as a member of the international affairs and osteopathic medical economics committees. Dr. Buser is the Chairman of the American Osteopathic Association’s Coding and Reimbursement Advisory Panel, a member of the Correct Coding Policy Committee of the American Medical Association (AMA), and a member of the AMA’s CPT Editorial Panel, the first osteopathic physician to be elected to this position. He served as the Chairman of the Dept of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at UNECOM from 1986- 1999, and as Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs as well as Interim Dean. He is currently Vice President and Dean of the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine. He also currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Osteopathic Association.
